Baseball Skills Clinic

Unionville High School Baseball welcomes you to join us for a Winter Skills Series for all players ages 8-14. Dual-session Hitting and Pitching/Catching Clinics will be offered at UHS. You can develop your baseball hitting or fine tune your swing. Work on pitching mechanics to promote arm health or work on all aspects of catching. Hockey Unites for Her!

Come support a great organization and 3 great teams! Unionville Ice Hockey Club is excited to participate in 3 “PINK” fundraising games on Friday, December 18 at Iceline Quad Rinks in West Chester. The Varsity (6:00pm), Girls (7:45pm) and JV (9:30pm) teams will play 3 league games to support Unite for Her (UFH), a non-profit organization that provides educational and restorative breast cancer programs for women and girls. Monies collected will benefit UFH. Fundraising efforts will include: Player dry-fit tees for game day/pre-game warmup, a bake sale on Thursday, December 17 during all three lunches at UHS, UFH pink tee-shirts sold during the bake sale, at school and at Iceline and “Chuck-a-Puck” contests during each of the three games. The ICHSL will donate $1 for every ticket sold on game night and individual contributions can be made the night of the game (checks payable to Unite for Her) For additional information, contact Sue Lenkaitis @ 610-570-1112

Our hope is to raise money to support ice time and league fees moving forward and also to ensure that any child within the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District that desires to play the great game of hockey can afford to do so. Baseball Equipment Collection

It's the 3rd Annual Unionville Baseball Used Sports Equipment Collection & Sale! On Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 9am-3pm in the Patton cafeteria. Please help by donating your used equipment for any sport. Put your donations by your mailbox for collection on Saturday, February 6 by 8 AM (snow date, February 20) or drop off to Patton on Friday, February 26. Patton Wrestling

There will be a wrestling meeting @ 1:45 in the cafeteria on Thursday, November 5 for any 7th and 8th graders interested in wrestling this year. First practice is November 16th and the season runs until February.  There are a lot of new and exciting things happening with Patton Wrestling and we want you to be a part of it!  We are also looking for any interested students who may want to be team managers. The high school Girls Varsity ice hockey team will take on Downingtown West this Friday, October 23 at 6 PM at Ice Line in West Chester.  Come support the team and cheer them on for another victory.  Go U!

Unite for Her!

Don't forget -- Pink week is back next week!! Wear your shirt from October 22 - October 30! Athletic events are used to raise funds and awareness for the organization "Unite for Her". Students can purchase shirts in the Library all next week. The cost is $15 per shirt.

Field Hockey UNITES for Her!

Tuesday, October 20th is Unite For HER & Patton Field Hockey Night! Please join us for the UHS Field Hockey game vs. West Chester East at UHS Stadium at 7pm. All Patton Field Hockey players who wear their Patton Field Hockey Spiritwear or Patton Unite for Her Spiritwear (on sale this week in the Patton library during advisory and lunch periods) will receive free admission. Some of the Patton Field Hockey players will be ball girls for the game, and all Patton Field Hockey players will be invited on the field to join the high school team before the start of the game as line-ups are announced and the national anthem is played!

Unionville Ice Hockey News

The Unionville Ice Hockey Club will host it’s first games this coming week. Come on out to IceLine to show your support of the Blue and Gold. The Blue Team will face off against Shanahan this Sunday, October 11th at 6:00 PM on Rink 4. The Gold Team will battle Sun Valley on Monday, October 12 at 7:45 PM on Rink 1. See you at the rink!Schedules for each of the teams can be found on the ISCHL's website. Games are free admittance (except for the HS Varsity team) and are held weeknights at IceLine. Join Unionville Ice Hockey!

The Unionville Ice Hockey Club is gearing up for another exciting hockey season.  There will be four teams this year: a middle school co-ed team for 5th through 8th graders, a high school boys JV and Varsity team and a high school girls Varsity team. The teams practice nearby at the Upland Country Day School’s ice rink know as “the barn”. The middle school and girls Varsity teams practice Sunday evenings.  The boys high school teams practice Sunday and Wednesday nights. The season runs September through March. Games take place mainly on weeknights. Most games are held at the Ice Line Quad Rinks in West Chester, PA. Please be sure to come out to support our hockey club and cheer for the teams. They have had very successful seasons in the past. Games are free admittance, except for the high school boys Varsity games. Fall Sports Are Coming!

Reminder for Fall Sports: Physicals are due to the Main Office (located in Rm 109, entering the building from the Rt 82 side) by August 24th. Each athlete is required to have a completed Comprehensive Interscholastic Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (CIPPE) form prior to trying out for a sport. The form was handed out at the sports meetings in June and is also available on the PIAA website. Please be sure you have the most current version of the form, which is dated 5/20/2015. The August 24th due date allows time to review all paperwork and identify errors or issues that may interfere with your child's ability to tryout for their sport. If there is a problem turning the physical in by that date, please email Mrs. Walsh-Shell at kwalsh-shell@ucfsd.net.

Volleyball Camp

Interested in improving your volleyball skills? Then check out the Unionville Volleyball Camp, for girls in grades 6 – 12, this summer. The camp takes place August 10th–14th at the Unionville High School Gymnasium. The camp will run from 8 AM - 1 PM for high school players and 2 PM – 5 PM for middle school players. This year the Southern Chester County Soccer Camp directed by Unionville Boys Soccer Coach Rich Garber will be July 27th thru July 31stt at the Unionville/Patton Middle School Campus. Unionville Football Camp

Check out the 2015 Unionville Youth Camp for students entering grades 2-9 in the fall of 2015! The camp runs June 22-25, 2015 @Unionville High School, 9AM- 2 PM. Patton Fall Sports

Attention 6th and 7th grade athletes. Meetings will be held for any boy interested in trying out for a Fall Sport during Hawk Time on Tuesday June 9th and for any girl interested in trying out for a Fall Sport during Hawk Time on Wednesday June 10th. All athletes will meet in the gym initially and then we will split up into individual team meetings. Fall sports are: Cheerleading, Cross country, Field hockey, Football, Boy's soccer, Girl's soccer, and Volleyball. Coach's information is available on the CFPMS Athletics page.

UHS Dance Team

The Unionville High School Dance Team will be holding auditions for next year's team on Wednesday June 3 from 2:45 - 4:30 pm. Interested dancers should plan to arrive at the high school cafe LGI at 2:30.  Audition will include warm up, leaps and turns down the floor, and a combination. Dancers should have a solid foundation in jazz technique, and experience in hip hop or jazz funk is preferred. Questions should be directed to Mrs Dilworth at fdilworth@ucfsd.net.

UHS Football Car Wash

Unionville High School Football needs your support at their Car Wash fundraiser on Saturday, May 30, from 9am – 1pm at Land Hope Farms, 101 E. Street Road at the corner of Routes 926 and 82. See you there!

UHS Cheer Squad

Any eighth-grade-student interested in participating in tryouts for the 2015-16 UHS Cheer Squad should mark their calendars. UHS tryouts for next year will be held on 6/3/2015, 6/4/2015 and 6/5/2015 at Unionville High School. Detailed information about tryouts is available in the Patton Main Office.

The Unionville High School Youth Softball Clinic for ages 7-14 is Saturday, March 14 from 1-3 PM at the UHS Varsity Softball Field. Learn all aspects of the game: fielding, hitting, bunting, slap-hitting, base running, pitching, catching, and conditioning. Spring Sports Physicals

Attention Parents of Spring Sport Athletes. If your son or daughter is interested in trying out for a Spring Sport, all medical forms are due to the Main Office by March 2nd. Between 7th and 8th grade Spring Sports, there are more than 300 athletes participating. This deadline will give us time to review the forms, and identify any problems in advance, rather than the first day of tryouts. It is very difficult to have to tell a young athlete he or she can't try out or participate on the first day because their forms aren't signed, dated or are otherwise incomplete or missing. Every athlete needs to have a completed PIAA sports physical on file in the Main Office and needs a current Section 7 from the PIAA physical packet, signed by the parent and athlete certifying their health has not changed since their physical. If there has been an injury or significant illness since the physical, that injury or illness needs to be indicated on Section 7. If the athlete has not already been cleared in writing for a return to athletics since that injury or illness, Section 8 needs to be completed and signed by the treating physician. The Unionville Rugby 2015 season kick-off meeting, postponed from last Saturday is TONIGHT, Tuesday, January 27th, from 7:00pm – 9:00pm in the Unionville High School LGI. Student-athletes and their parents should attend. Players should bring a completed registration form and club dues to the meeting.
